AGATE Donates Crosses to the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community

Agate Inc. is grateful to the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community for allowing us to make our home here for the past 25 years. To honor the community Agate donates steel crosses to decorate the community cemeteries.

AGATE Supports St. Peter Mission for the Children

Agate proudly donated a much needed library as well as a bus port to the St. Peter Mission for the Children.

Founded in 1923 on the Gila River Indian Reservation, St. Peter Indian Mission School provides education and support for needy local children and their families. AGATE and Joe Garagiola, who has been dubbed the Indian name “Awesome Fox” for his generous help over the years, are committed to the mission’s continued success. Located in Bapchule Village, the birthplace of Iwo Jima flag raiser and Marine hero Ira Hayes, the mission welcomes visitors and gratefully accepts contributions of any kind.

AGATE Scholarship

Agate recently donated to the Northern Arizona University's College of Engineering and Natural Sciences' Campaign for the Louis Agassiz Prize for Writing Excellence.

The Louis Agassiz Prize is awarded annually to the winner of an essay competition, held for the purpose of encouraging the writing skills of undergraduate students. Prizes will be awarded by an editorial board whose members represent both the sciences and the humanities. Up to three awards will be given each year.
